Why is it bad to see a movie by yourself?
I'm an 18 year old guy. When I see a movie with friends no one looks at me strangely. But if I see one by myself I get these looks from people, and even have had people laugh at me. At the ticket booth, the guy will look at me funny when I say "one for ....".

Perhaps you shouldn't care about what ever everyone thinks on your actions. Don't give a damn! I prefer watching movies alone, except horror movies and nobody says nothing about that.

That doesn't sound like the experience I've ever had and I go to the theater alone quite often (because I go so often).
I would guess that there's just something about the way you look and act that makes people react that way to you.

Because when people see you, the first thing that might pops into their head might be, "aww look at that poor guy. He's all alone, he has no friends, etc"

Do not worry, because you spend less money and when they happen to see you with someone they will know you took your time to spend your time with. Just enjoy yourself. They are the ones that have the problem

It's because you aren't travelling with a herd. People don't understand other people who are okay with their own company and don't need the social approval of others.
