What is the best way to get soft skin?

I have really dry knees, elbows, shins, and forearms. How do i make them super soft with not that much work? I tried using lotion every night for a while but i gave up on the 4th day. Any solutions?

A hot shower or bath feels great, but actually robs your skin of its natural moisture, making it scaly and rough. Switch to a lukewarm soak or shower instead, to keep skin supple.

Regularly hydrated skin is soft skin, especially in winter, when dry air and extreme temperatures can dry out skin quickly. Apply moisturizer every time your skin gets wet: after washing your hands, getting out of the shower, even coming in from the snow.

When moisturizing, look for a lotion that contains smoothing ingredients like salicylic or alpha-hydroxy acids.

Secret softening weapons, that is. Your feet can become cracked, rough, and dry over the winter. When you get home, remove shoes and socks and apply a rich foot cream to bare feet. Then replace your socks as you do your evening chores. The heat of the socks will help the lotion to penetrate, softening your soles easily.

Believe it or not, regular shaving (even in winter, when it's not always necessary) helps skin stay soft because it manually removes a layer of dead, dry skin cells, revealing healthier, softer cells. Flick the razor at least twice a week for best results.

Wear gloves whenever you're outside. The icy cold air can draw moisture from your skin, causing hands and cuticles to crack and become dry.

Begin using an AHA face lotion. These products are perfect for making facial skin smooth and soft. Initial use can cause flaking, however, so don't start a new regimen right before a big event.

To help make every part of you soft, including your chest, decollete, back, and elbows, use a shower scrub that contains sloughing particles to whisk away dead skin cells, plus a soft fragrance to give your skin allure.

Those found in public or corporate restrooms can contain harsh detergents that are drying to skin; the same goes for some deodorant body bars. Instead, stick to more gentle cleansers .

They're one of the first areas on the body to dry out and become scaly and scratchy, which can put a damper on a romantic evening when your beau moves to hold your hand. To combat this and replenish easily lost moisture, use a cuticle cream daily. :) :)

    This is my method

1.) Drink a lot of water daily. You should have about 8 cups a day.

2.) Exfoliate. I exfoliate with bath gloves I got from Wal - Mart. I do it every day or every other day.. depending on when I take a bath. (THIS STEP IS VERY NEEDED)

3.) Soap selection. Get a natural soap with good vitamins and NO crap in it(meaning all types of extra stuff). I ran out of soap the other day and I found some goat milk soap. at first I thought "ewww goat milk soap, sounds disgusting" but I decided to try it and it made my skin amazingly soft. I kept on touching my skin all day in unbelief. I don't remember the brand it was but I got it was from whole foods I think. When it finishes I'm definitely going to buy it again.

4.) Don't take long showers because it dries out the skin also don't use too hot water.

5.) You should apply lotion when you get out of the shower within 4-5 minutes. Also, you need to get a natural lotion. some lotions are worse for the skin than not using any.

About 3-4 months back I had the most dry and awful skin then I decided to do these things and now my skin is very soft and nice. I've started to get compliments on how soft it is!

I've had a very hard time trying to find things to smooth out my arms and I finally tried Dove Deep Moisture and it's amazing! It's a body wash that you put on in the shower with a washcloth. The first time I used it i completly noticed a difference in the smoothness of my arms. I also put on Eucerin smoothing Repair after I get out of the shower!
