Is it true that the more fun you have the more trouble you'll get in?

Not if you're sneaky enough about it.

Although that's probably the irresponsible, Slytherinesque answer. Oh, well.

But I think in the end, it's better to have fun in life and suffer possible negative consequences than to never have fun at all. Fun, in my opinion, is what makes life worth living. Most the things we all enjoy doing are fun things to us. Whether it's reading, writing, or playing drinking games... We all get into some form of trouble for all these things. With reading it's the lack of sleep. With writing it's the losing your mind part. With drinking games, it's well, I suppose in some ways a combination of both.

Although I don't really think it's a general rule, or like an equation that more fun = more trouble. Yeah, it tends to be true that if you're doing one fun thing, it consequently can get you behind on other things you should've been doing first, which is troublesome. And sometimes it just seems like life can't hand you good times without handing you more bad times. Sometimes you almost feel scared to accept something good in life because it means you can expect something pretty bad pretty soon.

But we need to realize that life is really just random. With randomness comes variety, variety of good experiences and bad. And sometimes randomness can mean tons of good times for no apparent reason. It doesn't happen often, but it's nice when it does. So you kinda just learn to take things in stride after a while. No matter how bad things get, or how much trouble you're in, it'll always pass.

For your bonus question, I'd say absolutely. Who was it who said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened,"? I think that one is pretty true. Every good feeling you've ever had was worth it in some way, if only in that moment. Sometimes all you can do is live in the moment. And when it's over, you have the memory, which is just as good, if not better. Having a fun time means another experience to add to your memories that you can revisit at any point.

    :)

Edit: Aw, reader, it's lovely to see you around again too! :D And I know it, y!a can be so irritating and glitchy with its additional details feature. But I hope you stick around for a while! We all seem to be pretty busy with life, but it's nice to see everyone from way back when once in a while. :)

It does seem that way, doesn't it ?!

Why are the best (most fun) things in life 'not good' for you ?

How I wish I could eat all the sweets I wanted to, without fearing the long-term consequences to my health. ;-))

How I wish I could while away my time in front of the compy, without tiring out my eyes or my fingers or even my back ;-)

I've had my share of fun And rebellion and have borne the consequences too - positive/negative.

Would I repreat them ? Definitely, with a couple of caveats maybe -- like being more in control & more self-confident.

I don't have any regrets in life - nothing I will waste my time brooding over. Those days are long gone. One Always has options but only one decision; & that decision taken, it's yours for life.

Life is too short & precious to live in the past. Forgive (yourself as well as others) & forget; learn your lessons; keep only happy memories if you must; and live & enjoy the present.

    my 2-bits :-)

Update: Thanks reader; the sentiment is reciprocated :-)

I always admired your answers when many of my B&A contacts were still active [ck1, Lyra, arabesque/amelia, Billet-Doux], just never got around to clicking the option. Better late than never :-)

Just be responsible with your fun. I find walking through an art museum exhilarating. As long as I don't go trying to cut up a Picasso, I'm good, but I am also perfectly content within the walls of an art environment.

I find school to be the best part of my day—not only is it a highly productive use of my time, but when I have 5 hours of classes with less than 10 minutes in between, I don't get high for that entire 5 hours, compared to the time where I am not occupied by school or work, I am getting ridiculously stoned because I don't have much to do. I think the more fun you have can keep you out of trouble.

My grandfather created an account on here because he enjoys occasionally popping on and reading my answers, so I'll refrain from detailing some of the fun shenanigans I've had, and their consequential trouble. I was grounded for life four times by age sixteen. Fortunately, I was granted a reprieve each time, or I'd still be trapped in my room. Paradoxically, all the teenage transgressions probably helped me land a spot at my dream college because I would be extremely productive and studious during my long sentences, haha. In some cases the trouble was proportionate to the fun, and completely worthwhile. I sometimes viewed the punishments as taxes to be paid for the memories made and the fun that was had. There is something exciting about the thrill of (hopefully) getting away with something you aren't meant to do, and sometimes rebellion can be satisfying. Other times, the end of the seesaw for fun has been in the dirt and the end for the transgressions frighteningly high. I'm currently deliberating doing something my parents are opposed to me doing, and mentally balancing out the potential value and joys of it against the repercussions (which would mainly consist of parental lectures and not being able to drive my car over winter break, not expulsion or jail or anything, haha).

My dad taught me about Newton's Third Law and the concept of every action having a reaction when I was seven, and I've tried to apply it to my life and my naughtiness. I've done a lot that would raise brows, but nothing that has had more than temporary ramifications. There's a line in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" that I loved so much I made it into a painting once. "Mischief Managed."

Many of my most radiantly happy memories were formed through pure fun that wasn't tinged with risk for trouble. I'm taking my first aerial fabrics class this quarter, and I love it oh so much. It's incredibly liberating and beautiful and fun. I've always loved dancing, but this literally makes me soar. I'm obsessed with it now. I am taking lessons over winter break with the lady in the top video and I am incredibly excited about it. http://thesoultodare.blogspot.com/2012/10/aerial-f...

It's indescribably fun. I also feel exuberant when I really click with other musicians and we just have a fantastic jam session. I've been doing that with my cousins during Thanksgiving break, and it's been awesometacular. Surfing, painting, making music, running as fast as my legs will take me, smelling night blooming jasmine, eating something delicious, taking in an especially glorious sunset, laughing with my siblings or friends, traveling........these are a few of my favorite things that don't have strings of trouble attached.

You seem happy in this question. It made me smile.

    ~ skylark : )

edit - please excuse my typically verbose answer. The later the hour, the longer and more rambling my answers tend to be, haha. I actually remember getting in trouble in hs for being up late (like beyond 2 so late it's early late) a couple of times. This is one of the ways I unwind my mind before bed.

I LOVED dancing, and not only did I NEVER get in trouble, I made a living from it for a few years.

Just the opposite. The less trouble you get in the more fun you'll have. Fun is reward.

Good giggly fun and sober. No trouble. Strange looks from people who don't know how to have gigglews
