I have a very large dog is it normal for him to drool excessively?
He normally drools a lot when he is anticipating getting food, but tonight he's been drooling even more. I think he was nervous today because of a stressful situation so can that be part of it? Can it be something he's eaten? We've been mopping up little pools of saliva on the floor every place he's been sitting or laying down and I'm wondering if he's okay. He's seems fine in every other way.
It's hard to know what kind of dog he is because we found him. We think he's part Bernese Mountain dog, Rottweiler, or something else.

Some breeds drool naturally. If you have something like a St Bernard, Newfoundland, Bulldog etc, then yes, expect drool.
Edit: Both Bermese and Rotweillers both drool naturally.
