Seattle is a nice city where the temperature is not too cold nor too hot. There is more diversity in the city and Seattle is pretty safe. It was once voted as the most liveable city. What is good about the state of Washington is that you do not pay income tax just like in the state of Florida. My suggestion is that you make a trip to Seattle and visit.

What do you hate about Orlando? Whatever those things are may or may not be better in Seattle.
Weather wise Seattle is very different from Orlando. It's cloudy & misty a lot. Never real hot, never real cold, no oppressive humidity like Orlando. Thunderstorms are pretty much unheard of.
Politically Washington state and Seattle in particular is more liberal than Florida. Seattle is where Green Peace started if that tells you anything.
Demographically the area is mostly Caucasian, the majority minority is Asian.
You won't have as many tourists to contend with in Seattle as Orlando.
Rush hour traffic is terrible. While it's true Washington doesn't have an income tax, King County (where Seattle is) has 9.5% sales tax. That's $95 on top of a $1000 purchase.........just saying.
Trust me, no place in the USA is perfect. Seattle is pretty nice though.
----ps - I'm not a fan or Orlando either. I haven't been there since 1995, hope to avoid it the rest of my life.
Source(s): Lived in Colorado, Phoenix, S. Cal, Western Washington (greater Seattle area), Indiana, Maine, New Hampshire (best of all of them except the winter weather). Maine is the worst in my opinion. - ToriLv 79 years ago
Seattle is very different from Orlando. Like anyplace, some people love Seattle and some people hate it.
The weather is much colder than Orlando - the summers daytime high temperatures average about 75 degrees. The winters are faily mild considering the latitude - expect 9 months of overcast skies and intermittent drizzle. The high temperatures are usually in the 40s and 50s, but there are usually a few days of snow each winter. It is a great place to live if you enjoy the outdoors and nature - there is boating, fishing, hiking, camping, and snow sports in the winter available within an hour of the city. The people will probably be different than what you are used to in Orlando - pretty laid back and liberal in their politics, but are more reserved than people in the south so it may be harder to make friends. Agreed with what everyone has said!
But it's beautiful, rainy, artistic, and recreational as well.
