I was thinking of buying cheap a headphone so i was wondering if the sennheiser hd 238 is any good with rock/metal eg ratm,rhcp foo's stuff thx

As a rule of thumb, the higher the HD number with Sennheiser, the better the sound quality in general. Please try to find a store that has got a test-listening booth, it is the only SURE way to make proper comparison between models and help you find a pair that suits YOU the best in terms of audio quality, budget ad comfortability.

It sounds good but they hurts my ears after 20 minutes of listening. Get over the hear headphones.
