I'm planing to take a shot to calm my nerves?

To calm my nerves before a test (I have major test anxiety) it has been suggested that I take a shot of alcohol to calm my nerves before the test. I only plan on taking one shot, just to get the relaxing effects - I do not intend to get plastered and I am of legal drinking age.

I am 23 years old, 95 lbs and female. My test is at 2PM. When should I take the shot for the best results?

Update:

I do not condone the use of illicit substances.

Additionally, this is hardly starting a cycle of dependency. It is a single shot of alcohol and hardly abusive - it is too late in the semester to apply for the testing center for students with test anxiety and it is very important that I do well. I know the material - I have aced all of the homework but come test time I draw a blank.

You should take the shot after you get the results that you have passed your exam.

-Wouldn't it be better to celebrate doing well rather than begining a cycle of depending on chemicals to help you cope with stress?

The drink will whack you about 15-20 minutes after you take it. I think it's silly but to each his own. I'd say 1:30ish, have a few extra minutes for a breather, and knock that exam outta the fvcking ballpark.

    Good luck!
