How to show grid lines with measurements in Microsoft Word?

I know how to open up a grid and how to change the spacing of the lines, but I need to know how to get Word to label the grid with measurements. Example: vertical lines are spaced 0.25 cm apart. Reading across the screen I would see 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, and so on, labelled at the top of the vertical lines. Is there a way to do this? It would make things a lot easier.

You did not specify what version of Word you are using. I will assume it is either 2007 or 2010.

Go to View tab, Show group and click on Gridlines.

These versions of Word use the term Gridlines for 2 different effects. Every other version, including these, use Gridlines to mean the optional non-printing lines that show on tables when all borders are removed. In these versions, it is also used to mean the non-printing lines that make the paper look like graph paper.
