Am I the only woman who thinks the card scene in Love Actually is creepy and not romantic?

I'm talking about the storyline where Andrew Lincoln's character is obsessed with the Keira Knightley character and professes his love to her on cards. In real life, if a guy's so-called best friend offered to videotape his wedding and then spent several hours doing close ups of the wife's face, then showed up at their house on Xmas to secretly profess his love for her, that wouldn't be romantic. It would be creepy, and a betrayal of his friendship. Why is this supposed to be romantic? In real life, if a psychologically healthy man fancied his best friend's woman, he wouldn't videotape closeups of her face at said friend's wedding. that is the behavior of a psycho. Are there any other women who agree with me?

Lovers and psychos are sentimentalists by nature and hence I am not surprised when I hear many stories of when displays of affection cross into crazy psycho territory.

An all-round logical person probably wouldn't be a psycho or an overly romantic person so it would be more of a shock if that type of person displayed that sort of behavior.

Can women be creepy? Yes, for sure. They are human and capable of anything that humans are capable of. But when they are creepy, they don’t have an entire culture backing them up and explaining why their creepiness isn’t that bad.

Once when I was at a pub I handled it by saying some variant of “Hey, you’re making me wicked uncomfortable. I don’t like to be touched, so don’t touch me unless I touch you first. Also, I don’t want to flirt with you, so please no compliments or cutesy stuff around me, ok? I’m not into it.” This is , of course, not romantic - if you agree.

I thought he only realized he was in love with her after noticing he'd only made footage of her. And then he did a nasty thing by telling her (which was betraying his friend AND causing her to have to keep a secret or have drama in her life), but it was better than if he had tried to actually seduce her.

But the little boy with his crush was so cute, I still loved that movie.

I found a lot about that movie creepy and not at all romantic. I thought I was alone in the universe.

No, he was essentially saying goodbye to her and moving on.
