Get into an alcohol treatment program. That will help.

If you insist that you don't have a problem, the judge will give you the max.

First offense? You won't go to jail.

I had been arrested for pot when I was younger, and the only treatment places they could send me to were for alcoholics... makes sense... my councillor had 6 DUIs and only spent 1 term of 30 days in jail. My buddy also got his 2nd (or 3rd?) DUI, 3rd offense over all, and his jail time just got suspended.

I'm from Michigan BTW, and these are also for just DUIs, not so sure about leaving the scene, but I really doubt you'll spend time in jail. For instance, my friend got a DUI, no jail time, then arrested with over 800$ in pills, no jail time, then came home from college and got another DUI, and just got his jail time suspended last Monday.

There isn't enough room for you in jail. Last I heard they were bussing Wayne County inmates to Oakland because the Jail in Detroit was wayyyyyy over crowded, and even Oakland CTY was wayyy over crowded.

First offense, wouldn't worry too much. Especially because you weren't "Super Drunk" which I believe is .16 and above.

It's sad I know all about the court system, especially in Southeast, Michigan and Lansing. I didn't pay $250 and lie to a doctor for a med card, so it cost me $5,000 in court costs, lawyer costs, testing fees, fines, etc... What a sorry excuse to legalize pot. You don't even have to get a license to use Xanax...
