I'm having trouble getting KotOR II mods to work.?
I have recently gotten a Steam account and the first game I decided to get was KotOR II. I had the game on console, but everyone said it was much more satisfying to play it on PC. Well, so far it is, but I was wanting to install some mods just to spice the game up a little since I have played it through so many times before. I wanted something to make my PC experience a little new and more fun.
Well, I have watched numerous videos and read different things about how to mod and thought I understood the concept. Once I download the file, I extract it and copy it to my "override" folder in KotOR II, which I access through Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\SwKotOR2\override. But when I do this and go to start my game, the mod still doesn't work. Is there something I am missing?
I remember when I got Fallout New Vegas for PC, a friend of mine had to go through and do something to "allow" the mods to work. Like, give permission. I'm not particularly computer savvy, having been strictly a console kind of girl until recently, so I may not really understand what she was doing and may be relaying this information improperly.
I would very much appreciate it if someone could help me out. I would ask my friend again, but she lives very far away and works a lot, so I hate imposing on her.

I'm not sure exactly how to fix it, as i don't know what mods you are using; but general rule of thumb is to read and re-read the read-me file you downloaded and look in the comments for the mods you are downloading.
p.s.
If you want to spice up your game, try TSLRCM (Google it) it's a must have, and is a two click installation.
