Rewashing hair to get rid of oil..bad?

Ok so I wash my hair normally once a week but have been doing it for 2 consecutive days in a week since I am now using coconut oil. I treat my hair with coconut oil so that it will be moist and shiny before the wash as I tend to have very dry hair. However, the oil DOES NOT wash off the first time I wash it! Whenever I start styling, my hair tends to be very greasy and oily. So what I started doing is I let my hair dry natually w/ no styling the day I apply oil on and rewash it the next day, which tends to then get rid of the oil. I then straighten my hair and it comes out very smooth and shiny with lots of improvements. I then don't wash it for a few days afterwards. However is this bad for my hair if I do this by rewashing the hair right after the day I washed it? Just wondering so I don't make a mistake. Thanks!

I personally don't think shampoo is good for hair in general because of all the chemicals in it. Coconut oil is a great choice, kudos. I went "no 'poo" (http://www.crunchybetty.com/no-poo-to-you-too) and use organic shampoo bars and that works for me.

Washing your hair once a week is great though, in my eyes, the less chemicals you put on your hair, the more your hair will thank you.

As for washing it two days in a row, I don't know your hair so I can't comment too much, except that your stripping your hair twice in a row but if that works for you, then it works for you. Best of luck dear.
