Best places for a Happy Hour in NYC?
What are some good places to hold a Happy Hour near NYC, preferably near Grand Central Station? Thanks!
3 AnswersNew York City5 years agoDating: Best way to be comfortable.?
So I'm new to dating and stuff. I'm not looking for a serious relationship and just casual dating or just meeting up, but I am sure this applies as well. Lately I've been making errors (unintentional) and am learning about these "dating rules" and someone I know called out on it. Learned a hard lesson that way. Anyway, I know they say have to be yourself and just be natural, however I am starting to realize people have different expectations and observe and perceive you differently. If I do or say something that really just simple, some of the guys I met up would take offense to it. Is there anyway to go about this. I mean tell every person I meet that I'm not looking for anything serious now and just want to see how this dating thing works, however if there is a "connect" between us I'm willing to take the next step. I tell ppl off when they cross the line and ask for sex and stuff the first night. But I just feel weird getting into this now and want to know how to make myself comfortable and not worry about giving people a wrong perception. That's all.
Also even if I don't want a relationship, is it smart to keep contacting those guys to keep as friends even we both know we won't get anything farther than just hanging out or is it necessary to drop them for good? I've been talking to few, but just as a buddy not as a potential girlfriend.

1 AnswerHomework Help5 years agoHow to deal carefully with someone with ADD?
So I have a roommate with ADD, she s very mature, successful and hardworking, however being her roommate can be trying at times. 99 percent of the time we get along great and communicate well, but there are things where we just can t get things across. Like when I say something she interprets it in a different way. For example yesterday she was saying she had not really driven alone and I told you can practice driving alone so you can get comfortable, but she took it as if she didn t know how to drive. Couldn t explain what I meant which was to get used to driving alone, not that she can t drive! Today, I felt I blew our friendship as she offered me to have a burger she got from a restaurant after showing it to me and I for some reason took a different burger.I was busy, tired and stressed after an exhausting weekend so my mind was weary and thus totally forgot what she had shown me, but I can tell She found out and I felt she was frustrated and mad. I apologized to her, and she said it s ok but that she doesn t "get" me after she said she showed me the sandwich. I just did something without thinking..it happens but I was so tired and weary. I do admit I felt stupid and horrible. Is it me and how can I deal with her?

4. Imagine a cross-sectional study was carried out to identify associations between education level and drug abuse. As they predicted, the researchers found that people with more education were less likely to be drug abusers. In this hypothetical study, give an example of how each of the following might have affected the validity of the findings (you can make up study methodology to fit your example):
Confounding (would one be family dynamics, not able to access drugs?)
Selection bias (selecting only people who went to college/middle school?)
Information bias (non-differential)
Information bias (differential)
^No idea of the other two.
5. Imagine you are designing an experimental study to evaluate the effects of a school-based drug abuse prevention program in high school freshmen. You want to see if the students who receive the program are less likely to use drugs or alcohol one year later. You have 6 school districts willing to participate in your study. Each district has 1 high school. Answer the following:
How would you decide who gets the intervention and who is in the control group?
How would you protect against selection-Hawthorne effect?
How would you protect against diffusion of treatment?
d. How would you protect against implementation effect?
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)5 years agoRude Roommate?
So am a new student at a new school and feel there is tension now with my roommate I'm sharing my room with. I think it is because she has ADD, but she and her new friend seem rude lately. I try not to interfere in her life, but still things are strange. Went canoeing recently & since she likes outdoors, I invited her to come along. She mentioned that her friend is coming. No problem. However she & her friend completely ignored me. When I tried to join in I was out of the loop. This friend of hers is her other's good friend's roommate. They seemed nice when I first met them. But for some reason they seemed cold towards me after. She came back late last night & seemed moody. Knew she was pissed so said nothing to her except how her kayaking trip was, which to her was ok. She was mad and it couldn't have been at me since I hardly saw her all day. She was getting ready for bed & turned the lights off. I said "have a good night" to her & she flipped out at me saying how I do not understand the connection between lights off and ME being awake? She's was the one going to bed! I can't say goodnight? Today she invited me to get nails done with her other friend. Was ok but she kept inviting everyone to go to a party with her with me stuck in the middle hearing it. Flaunted it to my other roommate and stuff but didn't mention it to me. WTF?? I'm not offended and told her that she does not have to invite if she does not want to, she does not need to rub into my face! How to deal?
3 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships6 years agoDimissed from nursing school..going to public. Should I show my nursing school transcript?
So I was unfortunately dismissed from nursing school due to an unfortunate and am planning to attend a public health program (nursing school recommended that too), however the school does not specify that it wants ALL transcripts attended, should I just send it in anyway. I'm only a bit afraid because I don't want to become dishonest and yet am afraid my chances will be hindered if I show them my nursing school record. Just want to play safe and not do anything illegal, but I was told it's ok not to disclose unless the school requires you show ALL of them.
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)6 years agoCell phone help?
My cell phone (Samsung Brightside) got wet yesterday. It wasn't submerged in water but my pocket where it was in got wet and kind of screwed my phone. It works, you can turn it on, however, my the touchscreen part no longer takes effect and not all of my buttons on the key pad work. When I disassembled the phone, there was damage to it. I put in a bag of rice hoping the water will be absorbed from it. Do you think this will work in my situation and my keypad will be restored to a point it will work?
3 AnswersCell Phones & Plans7 years agoWhat to get for a Vietnamese Wedding?
A Vietnamese Couple I know is getting married in a few months and I want to get a gift for them, something that is traditional, since they are somewhat traditional. I am def giving money since it is one common gift and I plan to give it along with a card, but I was thinking something physical like a memorable scrapbook or jewellery would be nice, but not sure how traditional that is. Any ideas for physical items that would match for a traditional Vietnamese wedding gift?

1 AnswerInfectious Diseases8 years agoRewashing hair to get rid of oil..bad?
Ok so I wash my hair normally once a week but have been doing it for 2 consecutive days in a week since I am now using coconut oil. I treat my hair with coconut oil so that it will be moist and shiny before the wash as I tend to have very dry hair. However, the oil DOES NOT wash off the first time I wash it! Whenever I start styling, my hair tends to be very greasy and oily. So what I started doing is I let my hair dry natually w/ no styling the day I apply oil on and rewash it the next day, which tends to then get rid of the oil. I then straighten my hair and it comes out very smooth and shiny with lots of improvements. I then don't wash it for a few days afterwards. However is this bad for my hair if I do this by rewashing the hair right after the day I washed it? Just wondering so I don't make a mistake. Thanks!
