Who Do You Think Benefits the Most from The Likes Of Lil Wayne and Nikki Minaj?
This question is inspired by Dejele's Question about Nikki Minaj. It got me to thinking: most answered that they don't like her or her image, and many on here don't like Lil Wayne either. It seems to be that both act out stereotypes for black men and black women: the black male thug, loud and criminal like behavior, and the black female, ignorant, loose morals, wild rude behavior.
So the question would be: Why are they so famous? Why do they make money, and have so many views on Youtube? Who benefits from keeping them famous and in the public eye?? When other really talented artists are under the radar??
Thoughts and Opinions.

I would say they are not acting out any sort stereotype of black men or women. Because they are women and me who conduct themselves in the same manner without the opulent lifestyle. I would same fame and money are nothing but amplifier to one's personality. They are no different from any race of women and men acting the same way. Maybe the type of music isn't the same but their behaviors are. They reason why they are famous because they appeal to a large group of people who want to have the same status and notoriety. And their followers don't have that so that are living vicariously through them.

The media which created their image and publicizes them. They are kept on top because the people who run the media, want to promote the stereotypes they portray. Take away the white people who buy their music and watch them on Youtube and they would be under the radar too.

There are many retarded and trashy people these days. For their idols they choose creatures similar to themselves. That way they can feel good about who they are.A thug next to someone like Beethoven would feel inferior but place him next to Nikki Minaj and he is right at home.Trash gravitates towards trash especially when there is great wealth involved as they are so easily impressed.
