fullmetal alchemist question........?
i saw the original fma when it first came out and was thinking of watching it again but then blood brothers came out so I'm kinda confused.
what are the major differences between fma and fma bloodbrothers?
can someone tell me which of the two are better? does fmabb have the same start as fma (with the timeline, how edward becomes an official alchemist, etc?) if not, at what point show i switch over to it (eg. what arc on fma is equivalent to beginning of blood brothers?

Both of the anime are based on the manga. Originally when the y were making the manga they didn't have the manga finish when they made the first series. So instead of them waiting for the manga they made up their own ending for the anime. FMA follows the manga storyline half way and then they made a filler ending. With FMAB the manga had been completed at that point and they went back and made the entire series match the manga. So FMAB follows the manga 100%. I think that the FMAB is better than FMA. The logic of the anime falls apart at the end of it, so it is distracting to say the least. Yeah, they have the same, more or less, beginning. FMAB is not the squeal to FMA.

First of all, it's "Brotherhood", not "Blood Brothers".
Next:
Full Metal Alchemist stopped following the manga halfway while Brotherhood follow it all the way.
Brotherhood has a lot more episodes, lots of characters and a lot more "getting taller" for Edward.
I recommend you watch it because I found the ending of the original FMA stupid.

I admire each series equally, as they both offer their own charms to the franchise. Additionally, it can be definitely not a waste of time to watch Brotherhood. The primary anime loosely match what little bit of the manga that used to be out in 2003/2004 into its own storlyline. Brotherhood is following the manga, which just ended a couple of days in the past, very closely. The only episodes that had content material that you'd already be acquainted with have been the primary 14 or so.(There are nonetheless adequate differences scattered during these to make them valued at gazing, although) After that, it reached the factor the place the first anime absolutely deserted the manga's plot. With 64 episodes whole, that is 50 episodes of manufacturer new content and an entirely specific story/ending.

Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood focuses more so on the Manga. Its basically the first series with a lot more extra bits. Personally, I think Brotherhood is way better. It starts off the same and it explains everything in pretty much the same order :)
