Who else thinks there are too many bowl games?
There are 35 college bowl games with 70 teams competing. Out of those 70 teams, 15 have a 7-5 record, 12 have a 6-6 record and one (Georgia Tech) has the dubious distinction of being sub .500 at 6-7. That means 40% of the teams in bowls have a 7-5 record or less. I'd like to hear others opinions, but I think it's silly to have mediocre teams playing in bowl games. Basically, fans who get coerced to travel to these games to show their college pride are paying for their team to be able to practice an extra 3-4 weeks. Please don't argue that charities benefit from bowl games because a tiny sliver ($3 million spread over all the games) is given to charity. Yet the guys who head up the bowl committees make as much as a half million bucks in salary to manage a 4 hour event. Grand prize for best answer is a trip to the Little Ceasars Pizza Bowl in sunny Detroit on 12/26, to see Central Michigan (6-6) take on western Kentucky (7-5)!

yes to many bowl games .. until a few of them go bankrupt nothing will change
with all the 7 -5 6 -6 teams there is a 9 - 3 Louisiana-Lafyette not in a bowl game and turned down a bowl bid

I'll second that. They're like music award shows, too many of them.
And holy ****! I wanna see the Chippewas vs the Hilltoppers! Wait, Western Kentucky is the Hilltoppers right? Or is it the other way around... I don't even like Little Caesars.

Why you mad people are making money with bowl games? If they're working for the sponsors, head honchos, teams/schools, then why not let them? If you don't like em, don't watch em and maybe they will be unprofitable and stop existing.

Yes there are but the fact is they get good TV ratings. Thats why they're on.
