What would be the effects of the Cheetah going Extinct?
I am writing a research paper for my college writing class. We have to choose a non-profit organization so, being obsessed with cheetahs, I chose the "Cheetah Conservation Fund," and decided to write about why it is important to help save the cheetahs since they are endangered. I need good research about what would happen if cheetahs did go extinct and why it's important to save them. With any answers you may have could you please post the website you obtained the information from please? Thank you!

There really would be not much effect since there aren't many cheetahs left in the world now. Maybe a few thousand, if that many. The major effect would be that there would be no more cheetahs. Which would be bad enough.

Cheetahs, principally looking prey animals like gazelle, manipulate their populations. So let's examine this state of affairs to a equivalent case, where wolves disappeared from Yellowstone country wide Park. When the wolves were hunted to extinction within Yellowstone, the prey animal populations now not had a natural predator maintaining them in investigate. And not using a predator controlling their numbers, the populations of these species skyrocketed. These newly enormous populations wanted huge portions of food, specially grasses, to preserve themselves. For that reason, the animals commenced to devour away the grasses alongside the banks of the river. Without a company root systems maintaining the banks in check, the river flooded normally and modified it's path, snaking by way of new areas. The commonplace flooding destroyed the beaver dams. The beaver populations dropped. Without beavers to eat them, susceptible or ill trees weren't controlled. They took the gap away from healthy timber. Moreover to desiring more food, the giant populations of prey animals had better percentages of ill or vulnerable animals in view that there have been no predators to decide on off these contributors. These unfit animals consumed food that would had been used by a healthful animal, more ready of producing fit offspring. When wolves were reintroduced to the discipline, it quickly became around and went on its approach to restoration, with populations in assess. You can imagine similar matters going down to the cheetah's ecosystem. Despite the fact that there are other colossal predators within the cheetah's habitat, their populations are also checked by means of competitors for food with the cheetah. Getting rid of the cheetah will rationale the results of overpopulation to both prey animals and other predators. Nature does not permit for "vain" animals.
