Constant hair pulling and scratching when I work or do something engaging?

I'm a 22 year old male. Currently in university. Although I do attribute my habit of hairpulling to stress sometimes, I still do scratch nonstop and twirl my hair to the point where it can fall out. I do it without thinking and can't help it. It satisfies me and I don't know what to do about it. I've started to notice I'm losing hair and excessively shed in the shower. This has been going on for the past year and a half and my best friend who I trust 100% suggested I see someone about it.

I have absolutely no money to afford a psych appointment, but have the Canadian health care system at my disposal. Do they deal with things like this?

Where do I start? I may have other worrying symptoms but this is really getting out of hand.

    Look up Trichotillomania on Wikipedia and use the solutions provided,

    until you stop the hair pulling.

    Start one small step at a time, substituting hair pulling with counting

    successful attempts at stopping the same.

    preparation -in case you are able to, wash hair another day or each 2 days-it only relies upon how oily your hair gets. -bypass away conditioner on for 10 minutes a minimum of and don't placed it on roots. -drink lots of water and consume extremely some protein such as meat and peanut butter reason your hair is made out of protein. -constantly use a bypass away in conditioner for split ends. -trim hair as quickly as a month in view that split ends stops hair strengthen. -use warmth protection every time.
