Seniors, what do you put in potato salad?

This is the third attempt to post this question, I am going to attempt to build a potato salad, here is what I think for ingredients. Potatoes, of course, eggs, olives, thinly sliced celery, miracle whip, a little mustard, dill pickle juice, salt , pepper, and paprika. Is that right? I ask my cooking questions in this section because I feel I get the best answers here.

Update:

I can see that choosing a B/A is going to be hard as hell. Y'all rock.

Wick, all of those recipes sound great, but the secret to delicious potato salad is to sprinkle wine vinegar on the potatoes before you add your ingredients. It makes the potato salad delicious.

Must have been a famous Yahoo glitch this morning, I tried twice to post a question & didn't see and left to do chores. Now both of them are posted.

I put chunks of cooked potatoes, chopped onion, celery, a couple of hard-boiled eggs, one finely minced Roma tomato, a spoonful of dill relish, salt, pepper, a spoonful of sweet relish, a squirt of mustard and moisten with mayo.

I used to put minced pimento peppers in my potato salad (and other salads) for color but don't really care for a sweet pepper taste in it, so I decided to use a small tomato one day and have stuck with that ever since, gives it a nice color. Green olives are good too.

When you say lunch is ? We make it so many ways Wick, We just through in this and that. I make one that has eggs miracle whip, mustard and chopped raw onion. Salt and pepper.

Another might add pickle relish, I have tried the sweet relish for a different take on it and it is pretty good.

sounds exactly how my mom made it. Did you miss the sugar?

I do it the cheap way...potatoes, (sometimes hard boiled eggs), miracle whip, sugar, yellow mustard. I salt and pepper it when I eat it. After making the potatoes then refrigerate it overnight. Of course make the hard boiled eggs too the night before. Then mix it all together the next morning.

I have many different potato salad recipes, some use different types of potatoes in the same salad.

The one I make the most is :

Potatoes, sliced celery, purple onion finely sliced or chopped, peas, chives or parsley and a coleslaw salad dressing.

This is a European recipe. I put in potatoes, mashed boiled eggs, gherkin pickles finely diced, pickled silver onions, mayonnaise and mustard, shopped fresh parsley, chives if you like, salt and pepper. The recipe also has finely shopped raw onions or shallots, but I prefer to leave that out.

Wick - All that you gathered and I sometime will chop up a bit of jalapeno, small chunks of bread & butter pickle and dill pickle. I tried some dried cranberries and that worked too. Glad to see that I am not the only SC male who like to cook. Good tasting my friend...

Apart from potatoes, I add diced hard-boiled eggs, celery, mayonnaise, buttermilk, green scallions, red onion, mustard, salt, pepper and fresh dill. Yummy!

Sounds okay. My ex mother in law, made the best potato salad ever! She'd use half and half, tomatoes and green pepper, besides all the other ingredients. I loved it when she'd come to visit and I'd beg for her potato salad.
