Curious question on deer hunting?

Why is it that in many places you can only hunt bucks? That does aren't fair game.

This is for a research paper, and to help shoot down an article that I'm using in my argument.

Update:

EDIT:

The article I'm trying to shoot down didn't specify which state.

It's a BS article written by hippie-hugging tree-loving commies, so there are obvious details left out.

One buck can breed with multiple does, probably 10. Assuming that an equal number of bucks and does are born. killing 90 percent of the bucks will have no effect on the population as long as there is enough food and habitat. In areas where there are excess deer, does are allowed to be hunted and even doe hunting is encouraged. In the state that I live in, each person can only kill one buck. Depending upon the area of the state, you can also kill 2-6 additional does. This year, the either sex season is 12 days. In January, there is an additional 13 days in which only does can be shot.

As Kyle said, it depends on population size. What areas are you talking about? I'm from Western NY. and we get more doe tags. In order to decrease the overpopulation of deer, you have to take out the baby-makers (does). I won't even shoot a buck unless it's wounded and I don't think it will make it, or if it's a big one. Besides, can't eat antlers. (That's just me.) If you can only shoot bucks in an area it's likely they are trying to increase the population, as that's the only logical thing I can think of. Yet it's not logical if it's along the East coat seeing as how there are too many white-tailed deer as is.

The Rem 30/06 is in all probability the main solid and versatile gun ever made, and there are maximum of distinctive grains of bullets you should purchase for that gun that i think of its an excellent selection. Smaller grain of bullet, the fewer its gonna kick. Its particularly complicated to say no to a Rem 30/06. Now, that being stated there are countless different incredible strategies. The 243 and 6mm are the two outstanding newbie weapons and in case you needed something with alittle extra knockdown power the 25/06 is between the flattest taking photos weapons on the industry. All Remington of direction. i began out on a Rem 30/06 and that i grew to become into lots smaller than your niece. the two way you pass, congrats on your niece.

it has to do with maintaining a population of deer. If you could shoot doe and buck for 2 weeks they would be wiped out completley

what states are you referring to? depending on population and location does are usually more than fair game and the bucks normally restricted to one or two it all actually depends on the population of the deer mainly.
