If you have a Cabela's near you..go look at their customized Ruger 10/22's. You play more for them than a standard 10/22..but Cabela's does all the work for you. I have see one with a bull barrel and a Tapco stock that has a rail on it. It seems as though every time I go to Cabela's, they have some tricked out 10/22.

Assume you are talking rifle, any of the common ones have at least an 11mm scope rail on them, typical upgrades can get you into a picatinney.

Cheapest to most expensive for semi - autos?

    1) Marlin model 60

    2) Marlin model 795

    3) Savage model 64

These are all in a group and it just depends what's on sale. All are serviceable accurate weapons. Typically under $150.

    4) Mossberg 702 plinkster - a bit more expensive, maybe 20 or 30 bucks. Fit and finish is arguably a bit better. Another very popular rifle. Typically $150 - $170

    5) Remington 597

    6) Ruger 10/22

These two are 50 - 80 more expensive than the Mossberg again, depending on where you are buying and what's on sale. Typically the 597 is a bit less expensive than the 10/22 but not always. Straight retail on these are typically at or a bit over $200. These are the only two with double stack magazines, if that matters to you.

Browning buckmark is almost 800 dollars, yeah that's so much worth getting over a 10/22 that's only 300 and can exceed higher quality with an extra 200 dollars...........
