Lawyer says custody change results are in but wants to discuss in person and be paid in full?
My hubbie and I did a fantastic job at court on Sept.5th to show good cause as to why his 7yr old & 5yr old should be in his custody. Biggest fears were that their mama was threatening to take them to her parents' home in Mexico in a Cartel-infested border town and live off his child support. Also, many signs of abuse, emotionally & physically. I know the judge was not pleased with her.
Well, the results are in but my hubbie's lawyer wants to have him come in to discuss things? Is this normal routine for a lawyer to play the mystery card?
What has been your experiences? Thanks for your advice and please pray for the best!

Well, firstly I wish you lots of luck but unfortunately that's the way lawyers work, even if you've just paid them a fortune for your day in court. After all, why give out the vital information you seek for free when they can get paid for providing it.
Assuming that your case was a public trial, it's quite possible that the court judgment is available as a public document so why don't you contact the court and explain to them that you are the plaintiff/defendant (I'm not sure who sued who) and you wish to obtain a copy of the judgment. You might have to pay for it but I'm sure it will be a lot cheaper than paying a lawyer.
Edit: Btw don't tell your lawyer because they have the power to access certain court processes and perhaps try to manipulate ways where you have to visit and pay them.

Being the female, you've were given the great thing about the sympathy vote in any courtroom of regulation that could want to listen your trial. bypass in there with the texts, etc and their hearts will soften, and also you'll get custody etc...Afterwards, i'd throw a effective little restraining order on the dude. and then call him a sissy or some thing like that. And uh, yeah at the same time as that ****'s all finished and over, punch him contained in the nuts and produce him into my workplace for a castration to stay away from him from littering the earth with anymore of his seed. good success and ****. on your well being, Dr. Faraday Barnswallow

It just may be a format or papers to sign.
Lawyers always want their money so if feels his job is done, he wants the remaining balance paid.

This can be normal, but I don't believe lawyers can hold your answers "hostage." He may be trying to help his chance of making sure he gets his money. If he does try this, you and your husband should explain that you don't appreciate this kind of behavior. Also, you may talk with another lawyer and ask if this is legal. You may be entitled to legal action against him if he tries anything.

Yes this is normal. His attorney does not want to have that conversation over the phone. He is not playing a mystery card. he is doing his job.
