You could watch D. Gray Man, Hokuto no Ken, Soul Eater, Brave 10 and Ao no Exorcist.

Naruto is good, but the Ninja War seems to be endless.

Naruto is great, it took me a lil longer then some to get into it, but omg. I am addicted and have been for years now. (P.S. Shippuden is better but it follows story so watch original Naruto first, you will get hooked anyways.)

Death Note is great. I do love love love this one. I would say it is my favorite short anime of its kind. No filler, so its short as stated. Great though.

Bleach. Another one I am hooked on and have been for years. Long as well, but as of a few months ago they temporarily cancelled it. There are still plenty of episodes and would most likely have it running more by the time you got to where it is.

(Depending on age, these are less censored with gore and mature aspects about them)

Samurai Champloo. Great anime about 2 samurai and their adventure to find the sunflower samurai (their lady companions dream). Great story, great graphics, but as said. Mature.

Eden of the East. Its great as well. Love how they have more of a psychological aspect to it. Thriller and such.
