Does it seem strange that it is easier to buy a gun than to get a driver's license in the USA?

Update:

Fred, you at least have to pass a test for a driver's license...

Update 2:

..., nope. CCW stands for concealed carry weapon. It is only necessary if you are going to carry a weapon concealed, and has nothing to do with purchasing a firearm. The required age to purchase a rifle or shotgun is 18. Any 18 year old in any state can go to a gun show and purchase a rifle or shotgun without filling out ANY paperwork.

I'm addition, there is NO mental testing that takes place before you purchase any type of gun anywhere in the country. If you are buying from a licensed dealer, the paperwork you complete asks if you have been involuntary committed for mental sickness or if you have been adjudicated by a court as "mentally defective."

Sorry, but you are clearly ignorant on this topic and should not have answered.

How do I know? I am a gun owners and ex-police officer.

    its bordering on insanity really,

of course insanity is doing the samething over and over and expecting different results.....

lets moan and cry after each mass shooting then do nothing about it and expect a different result...

its a real worry, for those outside the usa its very hard to get ones head around.....

In order to get a gun you need a CCW which you have to be 21 for and obviously you need classes for it, and i don't know where you live but you also take a test that tests your mentality... they don't want crazy people carrying a gun.

To get a driver license you need to be at least 16, but can start at 14 by taking driver's ed classes and then you get your permit and can even drive at 15 with a verified adult by your side.

So no your wrong. Sorry. (Or i guess both are almost the same in a way) You gotta be at a certain age and take classes for em.

Maybe. However; owning a gun is a right under the Constitution, while driving a car is a privilege. I guess since it's a right to possess a gun it should be easier to get one than to access a privilege.

I think its strange that republicans want to go to huge lengths to make people use IDs to vote, but have no problem with them getting an unlimited amount of weapons without even a photo ID.

...and I think it's too easy to get a driver's license!
