Rusty barrel fixes, pellet rifle + rust remover?
So my Crosman Model 2100 was left out in the sun and the barrel got all coated in rust. I also think that some rust got inside the barrel as well. Obviously either replacing the rifle or barrel would work, but what about rust remover? You can't use rust remover, right? Or can you?
So essentially it will work, but it will damage the barrel?
Also, how much would doing all this cost?

i think if you use rust remover it might just eat away the inside of your barrel so then the pellet would not fire right try some oil and a barrel brush that should do the trick hope that helps

i would say rust remover on the outside and a copper wire brush down the bore with lots of solvent and then use a bore mop soaked in solvent, then back to the copper brush until as little rust comes out along with the brush as possible, then re-oil with cloth patches and hope for the best, chances are the pellet already had plenty of clearance from the barrel walls as it was, now youve removed more material so theres an even larger gap between pellet and barrel so dont shocked if you lose velocity and accuracy

A product called Naval Jelly is a rust remover...as well as a bluing remover.
Should work well and not damage the inside of the barrel.
Read the directions.
