What do you mean. Are you asking if they'll have a occasion. Then perhaps. However relatively nobody can literally have a Bar Mitzvah/Bat Mitzvah. That mean son/daughter of the commandments. There's a lot to how men and women companion a celebration with devout responsiblity. I had a Bar Mitzvah but i was once cautious to have everything to have some part of G-d again on the guestlist then simply partying. So rephrase the question from Are You Gonna Have a Bat/Bar mitzvah if you're Jewish to Are you celebrating fitting a Bar/Bat Mitzvah if you are Jewish. Thank you EDIT: dhr and nanny411 is probably the most correct here. There's additionally no such factor as being "Bar Mitzvahed". Lol. You mechanically end up Bar/Bat Mitzvah from simply turning 13. No have got to do some thing.

If you are American and non-Jewish that day will come when you turn 18. This is actually when you will legally be an adult. Another date to look forward to is 21, this is when you are legally allowed to start drinking. In some areas turning 21 and having your first legal drink makes you an adult.

Honestly though some people in their mid 30s are not adults yet, do really there is no magical date that makes a person an adult.

On the flip side, Adult hood is more about responsibility than a declaration. There are young people who are highly respected for their achievements and their maturity. Maturity does not come from your peer recognition. It is when society says, "Wow, look, young so-and-so, they are up to great things and will go a long way." Be that young person, and an age or a date will not matter. How will you advance society? How will you do good to your neighbor? How will you help the weak and give a hand up to the poor? You may say, "I don't know how!" well, look around you. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer, to serve, to make a difference. Right now is the most important time in your life to start thinking this way. Trust me, adulthood will come soon enough. If you start thinking responsibly while you are still considered a child, you will be lightyears ahead of your peers by the time you are legally considered an adult.

The word "mizvah" does not refer to adulthood but to the Jewish laws.

So, when a Jew becomes Bar/Bat Mizvah -- it means they have become responsible for keeping all the laws.

Of course - they become responsible for the laws because they are adult.

If you believe in the Jewish legal/ cultural/ ethical system, then you can say that you too are adult at 12 if a girl and 13 if a boy.

But -- as a non-Jew, you are not Bat Mizvah because you are not obligated under the Jewish law.

Most traditional cultures have their own "coming of age" rituals.

So, if you were Catholic, you would have Confirmation -- this has the same concept - that the child has become inteligent enough to take responsibility for his faith - she becomes "confirmed" in the faith.

If you are looking for this -- I recomend you ask the old people of your community and research your culture in books.

    Good luck in your research.

They are only seen as men and women within the Jewish community, as they take responsibility for their own actions.

When will you become a woman ? When you are mature enough to take responsibility for your own actions. In the United States the legal age is 18, however, there are people who although are legally adults that have NEVER matured enough to become responsible for their own actions and forever remain children.

They have the responsibility of being adults WITHIN THEIR SHULS AND JEWISH COMMUNITIES. That doesn't mean they can drive, drink liquor, or get married.

We ALL become adults (officially) when OUR CULTURES have a coming of age ceremony.

That would be a Qunice in some cultures, or a "coming out", Sweet Sixteen, debut, etc.

Not completely sure what a bat mitzvah is but it's a jewish thing so you can't have one.

thes e rtuals are only becoming adults in respect to religious responsibilities, nt becoming ctual adults

in most countries, you are considered an adult at 18 (though in some countries it could be 19, 20 or 21)
