If i go to the police to find out who made a fake facebook account of me using my name and pics...is it stupid?

I wouldn't call it stupid, but it would likely be a rather futile adventure for you. As long as no threats were made, or nothing out of the ordinary happened with your account, just report this to facebook so they can handle it. They'll be able to trace the persons Static IP address if they so desire. This likely won't happen because facebook customers have an average of 60,000 hacks to accounts every day worldwide.

I know someone that has done this before, 99% of the time its people who are lonely and feel emotional unable to make friendships in real life. My friend went for therapy after the person learned of the fake account but was too affraid to apologize. So i would just post on ur wall saying u found who it was and maybe u will get an apology from the person who did it. But i agree police have so much real worries to bother them with this

fantastically positive they could! this woman made a pretend account on facebook, extra each human being in my college, and pretended to be a clean woman coming to hitch the college, she all started talking to all of us on chat.. and people got here suspicious as she hadn't joined the college even as the 12 months had all started.. then, quicker or later i logged on to get countless messages.. became out the guy who had made the account had framed me keeping i had created it... any earlier to the point, the precise of 12 months stated they were going to music what laptop (internet) were logging into the account... and the guy who lives there will be probably to be the single which made the account! so i assume you could some how! the guy became out to be my buddy playing a shaggy dog tale ahaha! desire it receives taken care of out!

I damn sure wouldn't tell anybody I did. The police department alone will have a good laugh for the day considering your local police department has NO jurisdiction over the internet what so ever. Secondly, don't assume someone is impersonating you simply because they have the same name.

Christmas, Road accidents, people dying, people getting stabbed outside night clubs, drunks starting fights -- and you think the police will be interested. ?
