A background check and licensing would serve what purpose?I would think that some sort of background check is done before hiring a journalist, or anyone for that matter. What would you like that license to be called? We are not all poets. I can understand your issues if a journalist wants to bring an Uzi in to the editing room, but the last time I heard about words killing someone was..well..never.
