Does aloe vera ocean potion help with scars?

I have some month old scars on my stomach from a really bad skiing accident, it is really embarrassing and my boyfriend wants me to go with him and his family to Hawaii next mounth, so I will have to be wearing a bathing suit. I don't want him or his family or anyone else staring. I hear that Aloe Vera helps with scars but the only kind I can find is Aloe Vera ocean potion and I was wondering if it was the same stuff, and if it even works, and if it matters the brand name and how quickly it will help heal scars?
