Fair price for new Glock?
I'm headed to a gun show this Saturday and I'd like to come home with either a new Glock 23 or Springfield XD40. I'm on a tight budget, though, and would like to pay $500 for a gen 3 or 4 Glock or the XD. Is this a fair price to negotiate for or should I instead look for a used model?

Hit the local gun shops and see how much they are. I usually find better deals at my local shop than at a gun show.

Check Glock's site, I would generally recommend you not pay anything more than what's listed as the MSRP because suppliers always overshoot it to make their retailers look like they're giving you a deal, but with political climate getting ready for a disaster, I'd recommend paying out the *** hard if you must. Desireable guns will not be cheap this season, I promise you that.

I'd allow an extra hundred and hope for the best... A Glock 23 should bump $575 and what you find a gun show for prices is always a crap shoot.

best idea is to look at the glock website for the msrp of that specific model. also check online stores too.
off the top of my head, i know they average about 500, but can be more depending on model, caliber, aftermarket parts, etc.
it really depends on how much you feel its worth. sometimes i will pay a little more to support a shop i like.

Both of these pistols are extremely reliable. You could get a used one for about 450. Therefore, I'd look for a used one
