Arthroscopic Knee Surgery Questions?

I'm scheduled for surgery for torn cartilage in my right knee next week. I have a few questions. The doctor scheduled surgery as a 1st option after seeing my MRI. Are there other options, such as taking it easy for a few weeks, using a brace, etc. to help the cartilage heal and avoid surgery, In addition, it's going to be done under general anesthesia.

Cartilage does not heal. It just stays torn, or gets worse.

The general anesthetic will be done with short acting drugs, and you'll get home sooner than if you had a spinal.

I work at an orthopedic surgery center twice a week, and we do a LOT of knee scopes. It should be a quick and easy procedure.

Best wishes for a smooth surgery and quick recovery!
