Does a teenager have to be naked at dermatologist visit?

My 14 year old daughter is going in for an appointment at the dermatologist.

She has rashes on her face, neck, and arm and that's the reason we're going in.

Will she have to be naked at any point for the visit or will they only look at the rashes?

Unless the rash is easily identified by looking at her face, neck and arms, she will probably have to at least take off her shirt to have an effective examination. The doc might prefer that she put on a hospital gown. She could probably keep her underwear on under the gown. Rashes are not always easy to diagnose, and sometimes the doc needs to look around to confirm places where there isn't a rash, which can be just as important as the characteristics of the rash itself.

More than likely your daughter will not have to get naked. The dermatologist will ask you guys if there are rashes at other parts of her body, though.

Don't worry, it's gonna be alright & doctors know how easy you can make a teenage girl uncomfortable. :)

Even if a person has a rash on the genitals they will not be completely undressed - they will often have a gown and drapes. If you would like to be in the room, that is totally allowable.

Probably only the rashes and maybe other spots of skin with a medical gown on at least

If there is no rash on her ***, not likely. Also, if the doctor is a male, if she has to disrobe, by law, there must be a female present in the room like a nurse.

they might tell her to take off her clothes and put on a hospital gown, most likely they will. but she wont be naked she'll have the gown. you have the right to be in the room with her because she's a minor

theyll ask you questions about any birthmarks and most likely she wont be naked. i went in for scars & acne . scars on my wrists , arms , thighs & legs & i kept my clothes on . just ware something comfortable & easy for them to see the rashes. like shortsleeves if possible
