Dark red/purple blood...?

I self harm (I don't need the lecture, I've heard it many times, or the "You're a freak, idiot" ect ect) I've cut myself but the blood was coming out dark red, they have scabbed up now, but the dried blood is slightly purple, I was wondering if anyone knew why that was... Thank you in advance

    i harm too!

    its most likely just a deep cut that has hit a vain bad

    if it has a scab it should be ok just keep it clean put some creams on it this will help with scaring if the cut gets really sore itchy swelling etc go see a doctor

    but dark red blood is just Deoxygenated blood :)

    The blood colour is determined by the number of red blood cells in the blood and by the amount of oxygen they are carrying. Dark blood will generally come from a vein and carries very little oxygen. Bright red blood carries lots of oxygen
