I talked to the lactation consultant at the hospital i gave birth at and she said that some pumps can actually hurt your nipples, but she said that Philips Avent was good and that Medela is good. I used Philips Avent and didn't have any problems at all.

Many women can't get a lot of milk while pumping though . No pump is as effective as a baby's suck.

All I can say is GET AN ELECTRIC ONE THAT YOU CAN PREFERABLY STRAP ON! My baby is 5 days old and I tried to feed straight from the bubbie but it was too painful and I hated not knowing if she was getting enough. So I went to get a pump and and let some dumb woman convince me to not waste my money and get a manual one that they're all the same. I don't care how well a manual one can work, pumping takes a loooooong time to get a good amount, I would love to just be able to sit and have a machine do the work. Get an electric that straps on, I'm doing that tomorrow

I had Medela hospital breast pump and it was awesome. I rented it for about $100/month, it's too expensive to buy it, but it was really worth because in 10 minutes i'd pump about 16 oz of milk (from both breast at the same time).

that's approximately authentic. There are some easy the right thank you to get greater milk. be certain you drink a minimum of 8oz of water each 2 hours. Oatmeal, fengreek, and dark beer help produce greater milk. i might eat a snack every time you nurse. yet be warned it rather is amazingly troublesome for many women human beings to completely pump. I advise consulting a lactation representative or a breastfeeding mothers group for suggestion and help. solid success.

Buy a Medela one and get one of them that goes in your bra so you dont have to hold it. its a lot more convienient and the Medela brand ones are the most durable. Just so you know though pumping sucks. breast feeding is a lot less painful.

Medela or Avent makes the best breast pumps. I know Babies R Us has them.
