Shouldn't we ban such terrible devices?

Yahoo! news has reported that out of 40 people, 5 were killed and 20 wounded in a tour bus crash in Oregon. Is it time to outlaw these vicious assault vehicles?

Sorry, not a hunting question, but I wanted the perspective of hunters and shooters.

Actually, you worded it EXACTLY like Yahoo did.

I thought it interesting that they said 20 WOUNDED, like after an armed rampage by an assault weapon wielding loony, rather than the more common 20 INJURED.

I wonder if this was a Freudian slip on their part, or trying to subliminally instill in the back of people's minds about the last school shooting. You know, keep the emotion high to pressure the politicians to do something!

    Me says yes.

After all, if we can ban Constitutionally protected items such as firearms, why shouldn't we ban cars which are not Constitutionally protected?

What were these people doing with a tour bus anyway? They don't need those. No one should have a vehicle with a passenger capacity greater than a minivan's.

We also need to ban all V8's and dual exhausts because they turn an ordinary vehicle into an assault vehicle.

    We must act now!

This question shouldn't be on Yahoo! Answers! Go to a political website!

In the UK we average 3300 deaths a year from automobile accidents and over 260,000 injuries.

I don't recall the British government calling for a ban or restrictions on cars. However, Ryan and Hamilton shoot a few people and the government bans semi autos and handguns. Strange old world.

Well- the fact that the reports says they were "wounded" makes it acceptable for the hunting section.

I saw that earlier and clicked on the link- expecting to see where someone hijacked a tour bus and shot everyone up.

    Is that "dirty journalism"?

Edit: but yes, lets ban buses- and journalists.

Just saw same story/headline and was saddened to think an armed and dangerous bus was on the loose. Of course I grief for the loss of life, but at what point did the usage of wounded and injured become synonymous in this context. Again, the media shows a bias on how stories/headlines are written-or can we just blame this headline on "just plain stupid",

It's not the vehicle that kills, it is the zombie operators on cell phones that do

There is a law passing through the Congressional system that would ban assault weapons, but this conflict the second admendment, the right to bear arms. Its a very fine line between these issues.

    WELCOME TO GUN CONTROL!

We need to ban all buses, and all cars! They're both major killers! BAN THEM BEFORE YOUR OWN CHILDREN ARE KILLED!

Source(s): That's more logical than what Feinstein wants done, since automobiles of various types are instrumental in more deaths each year than guns.
