Is Break Free LP Lube and Preservative safe for air gun bores?

I used this to clean my Gamo spring piston rifle, and when I fired sparks came out.

Break Free CPL is petroleum based.
To lube a springer use Crosman RMCOIL, RWS chamber lube or spring oil
