Isn't it odd how the same GOP that defends the 2nd Amendment, sh*ts on the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments?

At least Democrats are consistent in wanting to limit constitutional rights with no good justification.

How does the GOP pick and choose which Amendments to ignore or protect?

http://www.businessinsider.com/senate-renews-contr...

The Senate approved a five-year extension of a George W. Bush-era surveillance law that allows US spy agencies to conduct wiretapping on foreign citizens without a warrant.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, approved by the House of Representatives in September, passed the Senate with a 73-23 vote and broad bipartisan support, and now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/21/ndaa-inde...

The Senate passed a version of the National Defense Authorization Act that was stripped of a prohibition of the indefinite military detention of US citizens on American soil by an 81-14 vote on Friday, but only after a furious dissent on the chamber's floor by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who called it an "abomination."

Update:

@k........"Obama signed the NDAA into Law and also renewed the Patriot Act..."

Yes he did. Renewed the Patriot Act TWICE.

How does that change the question? The GOP has proven it has NO PROBLEM filibustering legislation it doesn't like.

Update 2:

@jackmeof......."On the other hand, you want to ban guns which directly effects us all."

I don't want to ban anything.

Btw, that's a pretty weak argument.

It reminds me of poem though:

First they came for the communists,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me,

and there was no one left to speak for me.

Update 3:

@icet.............

Serious question: Can you read?

So then surely you saw all those Republicans (same ones who can block ANY piece of legislation they want from getting through the Senate) vote for it.

Also, he can't extend it until CONGRESS passes the bill again.

LOL! You seem to be a bit confused!

The Bush era surveillance law is known as the Patriot act. This is the same patriot act O'Bama promised to let expire if he were elected the first time. In four years O'Bama has signed the Patriot act every time it has crossed his desk and he signed it again this morning!

By the way both of your examples were passed by a Democrat controlled Senate!

Seriously? Are you not seeing that neither party cares for the US citizen anymore? There is a shadow govt. running everything . The US govt. has bought up billions of rounds of ammo and by some agencies that normally do not carry weapons. Don't you wonder what each party is contributing to this effort? We are losing America. We have had everything handed to us and never had to fight for our rights at home. You will now and in the near future, or become enslaved. There is not one politician that is working for our common good, not one. People will, in the wake of a tragedy such as 9/11 or something else, trade freedom for security which leads to tyranny.

YES it is odd, stupid and disastrous. Unfortunately, the GOP has mostly politicians who are bought-off by special interests, like most other politicians. Rarely is there a politician --of any party-- who stands up for what is right at least most of the time. *BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT AFFECTED BY IT* They don't have to live by it.

    See "Idiocracy" the movie.

Republicans are very pro military, pro national security.

    That's the difference.
