What genres do you use to sort your music collections?
I'm once again looking at the stuff I have on my computer...I feel like I used too many genres (like thrash metal, hardcore punk, alternative rock, east coast hip-hop, breakbeat, blues rock, etc...) but I want to see what you guys do for your music genres.

All the music in my iTunes/Zune player is categorized as Good Music. If I like a band, then, to me it definitely sounds good, doesn't it? So, I save it as Good Music.
Also, I used to play this game on the iPod Classic which asked me questions about my music list - so, to cheat in that game, I set the year to all my music at that time to 2002. I picked that habit up and still continue to change the years of my music to 2002 :-p.

I don't fill in that part, I just leave it as whatever it was when I added it, when I want to listen to something I look it up alphabetically, never use the genre tags for anything.

just two... "alt-country" and "country"... the first one is for modern alternative/independent country music, while the second one is for classic country
