Warped dimensions when editing pictures on PowerPoint?

I like to edit images and such for my Tumblr, and I used PowerPoint 2011 to do so. But whenever I crop or resize or add an effect to an image and then save it as a .png file to upload, I find myself needing to go into Paint and resizing it as, having saved it, either the length or the width have been stretched 125% or so.

This ONLY happens when it's just the picture on its own. If I group a text box or other pictures into it, it's perfectly fine.

It's just really annoying and I'd like a quick, permanent fix to this. :)

    Hi Jack,

Just use Gimp, best open source graphic software. It's like a light version of Photoshop - just free.
