How can I contact him?
My bf is planning to join the army in a year. He'll have to go through basic training and then I'm not sure what he's going to do. How will I be able to contact him? And please I don't want stupid people replying "it depends what branch of the army" because I am not going to go with how wrong you are. He is going into the ARMY and I just was wondering how I would be able to stay in contact with him and how long he will be away from me. Please help?

During basic training you can keep in contact with letters and he will be given chances to call you. After basic he will go to a tech school where he will learn his specific job. How long a school lasts does depend on the job but he will have more chances to communicate once he is there. He will be able to Skype, FaceTime, talk on the phone, and send and receive emails. My advice is take it one day at a time. The time apart will make your love stronger and the letters you send him while he is in basic will be the highlight of his week.

I would normally assume by writing but then again it's not exactly the 1950's, however i think they have certain rules to follow, i'm sure all that will be covered once he joins up, it's a good thing he's doing, don't fret, he'll stay in contact i have a friend who's boyfriend is also in the army and they are very happy together, when he visits and i assume they stay in contact while he is away :)
