Which is better? Pokemon Red or Blue?

For me personally I would choose pokemon red because that was the first version I got as a kid and I have always played pokemon red.

I have not had pokemon blue as much. Maybe in the past I played pokemon blue a little bit but I lost it and tried to buy another pokemon blue but it was out of stock and they had pokemon red at the time.

So I just recently bought pokemon blue about a month ago and I am just not used to it. I know its almost the same as red but it doesnt feel as original as playing pokemon red. I have always been playing pokemon red and I just love it and am extremely used to playing it and the pokemon you get are better. 

What pokemon game is better? What is your favorite pokemon game. If I were to choose out of all of the pokemon versions I would as a matter in fact choose Pokemon Crystal.

They're almost identical. The only differences are version exclusives. Here are some of the Pokemon obtainable only in Pokemon Red:
Ekans 
Arbok
Mankey
Primeape
Growlithe 
Arcanine
Oddish
Gloom
Vileplume
Electabuzz
Scyther

In Pokemon Blue, you will find these Pokemon instead:
Sandshrew
Sandslash
Meowth
Persian
Vulpix
Ninetales
Bellsprout
Weepinbell 
Victreebel
Magmar
Pinsir

Now, lets examine these Pokemon.
Sandslash>Arbok
Primeape>Persian
Ninetales>Arcanine (in Gen 1)
Victreebel>Vileplume
Electabuzz>Magmar
Pinsir>Scyther

That's two points for Pokemon Red and four points for Pokemon Blue. So technically, Pokemon Blue is better, but it is really a matter of personal preference.

If they're the same game, how can one be better than the other?

If this was about yellow, red and blue, the question is valid. But they're the same game, so they're both as good as the other. I had blue growing up, though. Yellow is my favourite out of the original three.

Pokemon Red is better, personally my favourite Pokemon game is Leaf Green, just saying :)
