Are Liberals environmental hypocrites?
I'm a conservative and building a sustainable house with mud, tires, cans and bottles. You would not believe the crap the feds put me through to build this house which has been built all around the world because of the EPA's insane restrictions.
So liberals, which is better, environmentally speaking, building a house with virtually no footprint that recycles rainwater and harnesses solar and wind power or sitting in a city feeling good because you are drinking bottled water out of a recycled bottle and voting for people who make it difficult to actually make a true difference?
I have zero utility bills and live off the land. You sit on a concrete eco-disaster.
So are you a hypocrite or what? Why wouldn't you pressure your candidates to support these tried and true houses for communities and poor countries instead of cruising your smartcar and using recycled goods which goes in a garbage can and voting to tax the crap out of people trying to make a living?
Are you a hypocrite or what?
The cost of these houses is about the same as a regular house to build or purchase.
So far none of you can respond because you ARE hypocrites! AMAZING! Do you care about the environment at all or just vote for all these restrictions out of spite? WOW!
ZOMBIE: I respect your comment, however, why would you not push for these? I never realized how ugly and disastrous cities are until I moved into this. It's so simple and can easily be created in any city or community. It baffles me that the technology has been there for over 30 years and there are only a handful of them built! I will say that concrete covering everything is eco disastrous, buddy.
SMELLS: it does not contaminate ground water. It has a holding tank.
WILL: That is the whole thing. If we can pry the democrats away from the Progressives, then maybe we have a chance.

Good for you - IF you are who you claim to be.
But the fact that your eco-friendly mud house is good -- if in fact you're living as you say -- doesn't take away the need for "liberal" environmental regulations.
Both are important in helping our society achieve harmony and sustainability with the natural world. Both your individual acts and the EPA's regulations are necessary, to keep our society from accidentally committing eco-suicide.
No matter what YOU do to reduce your energy use & resource consumption -- and may God bless for doing this, if you're telling the truth -- it's still true that in many parts of the country, large chemical companies are pouring toxic wastes into the water supply.
It's still true that regardless of what you do to become ecologically friendly, large corporate energy companies are "fracking" for natural gas in many places, and wrecking the local water supplies in the process.
Other big energy companies are digging & selling coal for profit, which results in excess amounts of CO2 going into the air -- promoting the "greenhouse effect" and global climate change.
Still other big energy companies are mismanaging nuclear power plants, and in this way releasing long-lasting radiactivity into the world, where you and I may end up eating & drinking it.
Still other big interests in the USA -- some public interests controlled by government, as well as other private interests controlled by private capitalists -- also are scalping the land of trees to build new shopping centers, discharging silt & pollution into fragile estuaries & ocean ecosystems, and polluting urban skies with too much smog from auto exhaust.
We need an EPA, or some agency like the EPA, to regulate these big polluters, who are much too big for any single person to affect for good or for evil.
So please - please - KEEP living your eco-friendly, simple lifestyle, if you really are living one.
But please don't complain about the EPA trying to control & reduce the other sources of environmental destruction in our country.
We need eco-pioneers like yourself, or like who you're pretending to be -- but we also need responsible and aggressive environmental regulation by the EPA, even if "liberals" are backing the regs.
Your individual solution -- your eco-friendly house -- is great, and a step in the right direction. But it isn't big enough to save the country from polluted groundwater, radiation leaks from nuclear power plants, destructive CO2 emissions by energy companies, or relentless destruction of forests & farmlands by ambitious real estate developers.
We need regulations to deal with those things.
To answer your question about whether "liberals" are eco-hypocrites -- well, sure, some liberals obviously are. But not all. And it doesn't matter if they're hypocrites, if the values they're pretending to support are good ones and necessary for the long-term health of the US.

Because they DON'T give a damn about the environment. They just want to shut down business so we will all be a handout nation begging the government for help and keep us under control.
In fact the EPA regulations HELP Big Business get their pocket books fatter because they (the big businesses) will move overseas and not pay a single cent to the EPA so we wind up with the little guys that are royally ****** in the end and will refuse to start new businesses.
When that happens we create a negative feedback that keeps reenforcing itself till we have a huge difference between the rich and poor while the poor cannot live *off the land* due to EPA regulations unless it's *approved* which you have to fight tooth and nail.
During the *Bush* era businesses boomed and constructions were at a all time high despite some of the stupid things he has done.
The Clinton era towards the end there also was a brief recession where jobs were lost. I remember when Montgomery Wards went out of business during the Clinton years.
Granted NO President will ever be perfect neither you or I if we ran will be perfect but at least we can try to help people on their feet who are willing to work.
The problem with Welfare is the Liberals don't want a screening program that will sort out those who can't work between those who are willing to work but need a bit of a boost so they can support themselves.
Liberals I don't think understand themselves even. When they are shouting and name calling I suspect they are not aware they are doing it and are under demonic possession in many cases.

I am a conservative and have met some liberals who are VERY hypocritical and some who are absolutely not. They do put their money where their mouth is.
It sounds like you are very environmentally friendly though. I met a guy once who lived in what was called a cave house and it was pretty pretty environmentally friendly too and he and his family were extremely conservative.

so, you have to live in a totally recycled house to be environmentally responsible?
and... another con totally misses the point...
it's nice that you live in an extremely eco friendly house... but the simple fact is... cities are not "eco-disasters" either...
most liberals do work to take extra steps to be environmentally responsible... and that's great...
you taking further steps... is also great... but it does not make them hypocrites...
EDIT: I did say they were good... but... probably going around calling people names won't win them to your cause...

Gore himslef has admitted he feels to blame about his contribution to pollutants. .. i imagine notwithstanding, that it really is admirable to apply ones superstar to deliver awarness to an project. He doesnt could be impecable to attempt this. you're ignoring the problem reachable.

What epa restrictions would those be?
Do you mean the part about waste disposal or their refusal to allow you to contaminate the groundwater?

My Carbon Footprint (which I track) for an entire year is roughly what it takes for Al Gore's jet to taxi and take off, ......once.

The question is rhetorical crap. Your claim that you are building a house is BS.

No. Everyone's life is different. Good for you and I hope you enjoy your house. Pride goeth before a fall. Chill.

No, they are elitists and they believe the earth was made for them so they get to live extravagant lifestyles and consume more than 10000 average Americans. The rest of us are only here to serve them so we should live in caves and eat berries.
