Who SHOULD be driving the #22 Shell Pennzoil Car in 2013?

Yes and as many know Joey Logano is signed to drive this car in 2013 and beyond, but ive read a lot of posts on "Roger Penske made a HUGE mistake hiring him" or "horrible choice Roger", and there are a few fans of Logano saying he made a poor choice. ... Opinions of Logano's choice to move to Penske? was it good, was it bad? and If not Logano, of all the free agents from the 2012 season, who wouldve fit well with the Penske #22 car?

Update:

-Jayski.com, online news article comments.

Update 2:

Personally my opinon - I think logano has more talent than quiet a number of drivers in the field, but I dont see this move to Penske changing his performance. He spent his first years in cup around people, team and equipment that was capable of winning races and contending for titles, and he didn't show much.

Sam Hornish Jr. and Joey Logano were about the best choices. Joey's 6 months younger than me, and drivers rarely win before 22 and that's how old he was the first time he went the distance and won. Since he's so young, still 22, people shouldn't be so harsh on him. He's "a pretty solid driver, doesn't wreck, lots of top-20's" someone said here in answer to a question I asked about of two drivers mentioned as Gibbs possibilities which was deleted due to no best answer. When he was younger, I think 19, he was "good for his age." in this old article I found doin' a search on a NASCAR site last year. Two years ago, a rootability index had him #2 outta 35, 'cause he's "quick to laugh and smile" He's nice, I've seen people say. "such a gracious young man" someone said of him after meetin' him. He's one of the autograph signers. He was the holder of the second wild card, briefly after Pocono, which goes to show he was in the top-20. Joe Gibbs is an inconsistent team, so he didn't have the consistency to have it stick, but he coulda been in the Chase last year, if he'd won another race in the, say in the Race to the Chase, say at Richmond. He finished the season in the top-20 in points, but he's my second favorite driver, so I'm biased.

I guess we will see if Penske made the right choice. But really, who else did he have to choose from? Remember Logano is still really really young (22) so he has tons of time to develop his talent and become a winning driver, like he is in the nationwide series. Also he has brad k, as a teammate which is a NASCAR champion. Something he didn't have at Gibbs.

I'm tired of all the Logano bashing. Yeah, he does need to step it up a little, but he's consistent, always running in or near the top 10. Can't remember the last time I've seen him spin or crash on his own. I think with the right crew chief, he can kick some butt in the cup series. He's already shown that he can kick Kyle Busch's butt (and everyone else) in the Nationwide series. I also believe if he doesn't step it up and lead more laps and fight for some wins, it's all downhill from here. Maybe he'll learn a trick or two from Keselowski. If I owned a car, I'd have no problem at all letting him drive it.

Logano is a whiney little snot.

People that always knock others for being that,

obviously don't watch Logano's interviews after he wrecks.

It is NEVER his fault, and then he has the balls to call others

idiots, or rag about someone not deserving to be in the ride

    they are in....

He's lucky to have a ride in the NSCS at all.

Sam Hornish is so much more professional, it was a shame

to see him leapfrogged by such an undeserving puke.

I'm with the crew of the 22 on this.........

Your all going to be eating your words, and probably still eating at Mc Donald's, because Joey Logano is going to kick some "you know what" in 2013. I find it pleasurable that most people are blind to where the talent lies. Good thing you have someone like me to tell you how it is. And I will. And you can bet I will be back to shove it in all your faces. Maybe even explain to you the how's and why's. But for now we'll just leave it up to your speculation, because it's more fun this way.

Sam Hornish Jr. Even the crew members wanted that ride to go to him.

I think Logano is lucky to still be in the Sprint Cup Series at all. He had every oportunity to win races and show off his talent and he didn't deliver. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Matt Kenseth bring another Sprint Cup to JGR to go along side the ones that Tony Stewart and Bobby Labonte put in the trophy case.

RSXboy is robust. If it is not a kind S RSX, they shopuld be with regard to a similar. The TC is a powerful automobile, yet I could say even the backside RSX has a reasonable benefit by using suspension setup, and kit ratios. The TC does have a larger displacement nonetheless.
