Does the Tea Party GOP have a hidden motive using the debt ceiling?

except for their gun rights, its OK to have armor piercing bullets, rocket launchers, tanks and airplanes capable of shooting rockets because "gun rights shall not be infringed".

Social Security has its own financing therefore its not part of the deficit as conservatives try to convince Americans, even Ronald Reagan said SS was not part of the budget...

It's funny now how not raising the debt ceiling is something like not paying your bills.

No, you pay the debt you owe. But you cannot spend any more than you make from this point on.

Pay debt. Spend within your means. The "pay debt" part remains. The spending part must be slashed to not raise the debt ceiling.

No more credit.

Using your logic, the whole concept of debt ceiling is flawed since we must always break it to pay our obligations.

How about Congress passing a balanced budget? Then you wouldn't go through the debt ceiling.

The TP is composed of some ideologues with no real background in economics or politics, and many have a very shaky idea of how government works, or can think past their idee fixe of no taxes.

I can't honestly say they have a hidden motive, that implies an intelligence beyond the apparent motive of no taxes.

Their motive isn't hidden: they want to bring down Barack Obama, and they don't care if they take the whole country down with him.

I don´t think the agenda is hidden at all.
