"It's amaaaaaazing" how much I will miss Huell and his stories.?
LOL, Cope that is EXACTLY the sort of thing the Heuell would say. NAILED IT !!!
I remember a piece he did on some new little park east of downtown, and he showed the sidewalks, the newly planted trees. There was no one in the park and when some jogger finally did show up he chased him down to ask him questions about this AMAZING new park. Also one like that on the LA river !!!
He had this curiosity of a ten year old and somehow made it interesting. That was his art. You could tell he had a very good heart.
Thanks for the other responses Ric, Mops and OM.

Its sad that most people would rather watch garbage like Maury, TMZ, or American Idol. His programs weren't with a high budget or anything, but it was so addictive (in a good way). Going to the exact corners of the state, getting a tour of the tallest building in Los Angeles, he even went to the sea caves in the channel islands, not everyone gets a chance to do that? Who knows?, maybe the adventures are not over. There might be a successor.

Huell was one of the last good guys in media. He managed to stay grounded and wide-eyed at things most of us either take for granted or don't take the time to notice. Obviousman's rather jaded statement aside, it was nice to know that a such a good guy thrived in our otherwise bad-news overloaded media environment.
May he rest in peace.

It sounds as if he was one of the good guys on TV. Let's hope that some of his shows get put on YouTube or something similar.

I won't miss him THAT much. There is already a collection of his programs on DVD. Watch for a big release coming up, now that he's passed.
