Why has my son started blinking lots?
My eight year old son started blinking lots in the last week. Not normal blinks, totally over emphasised and practically using his whole face! He hasn't had anything traumatic happen to him.

Could be a tic. Could be Tourette's Syndrome, but I'm not actually sure of when those tics start.

am sorry about your son but your son needs to see his pediatrician. Sounds like a nervous tic and it can be brought on by stress. For now, make light of it for now until he had her appointment.

My kid does it too. It is a nervous tic and there isn't much you can do about it except for make sure he goes to bed on time, talk to him about anything that might be bothering him at school...stick to routine in a really positive way and let him know how much you love him.

Involuntary blinking can also be a type a epilepsy. He probably needs to see a doctor. If they find nothing wrong, then try helping him to de-stress.

he could have overly dry eyes, or irritated/infected eyes, or he could be having vision problems and over-blinking is his way of trying to get them to focus properly, i would make an appt for his eyes, and one with his doctor to be sure
