Obama's lack of women or minorities in the cabinet is distressing and more than a little frustrating. While the White House itself employs about an equal number of men and women under President Obama, the gender ratio of appointees in 11 of the 15 cabinet departments favors men.

However, let's remember two female Supreme Court justices (one a Latina), the UN ambassador (African-American), the Secretary of State, the Labor Secretary (Latina), the head of Health and Human Services, the head of Homeland Security.
