A girl keeps asking when she can call but doesn't. Theories?
I am back In touch with an old friend. She and I once dated, and there are some old feelings there for both of us.
Nowadays, she lives on the east coast and I live on the west coast. I have made it clear that I don't want a long distance relationship, but have fully encouraged her occasional talk of moving back to LA.
Recently, she got engaged to a guy she'd been only dating for a solid month, so I expected to not hear from her much, if at all. But I still do.
What I get from her are random text messages, telling me that she hopes I'm doing well, ones that tell me to have a good day/weekend/holiday. Or she asks me when my next day off is, and tells me she will call me, but never does.
So, what do you think is going on here?

Sort of agreeing with Chad, sort of. I do think she is trying to keep you on hold in case she decides to come back. I think she doesn't really know what she wants, other than change. At least that is what everything I read says. Talks about moving across the country again, engaged to a guy she knows for a month but still talking to you. Reminds me of someone I know really well. It sounds like she's unhappy where she is and doesn't have a clue what she wants but knows she wants something different, old and familiar or new and exciting is what she's unsure of. Typically not a good situation to put yourself in, but you know that.

Shes trying to be friends, keep you on hold incase she comes back to LA but she has her own life at the moment.
You know like an old friend you dont have much in common with and you occasionally text them to say hello etc but have nothing much to do with them anymore

i think she may still have feelings for u but is a bit confused and may also be taken up with her new life..u should try getting the answers from her.
Maybe she doesnt anna give u impression that she is desperate so doesnt call often.
time will tell..

She's maybe trying to keep in touch or friendship going. And maybe is too scared to actually call
