How Do I Handle This Graciously? 10 PTS?
I am the President of my Toastmasters Club and membership has been low for about 1 1/2. years. Presently, we are on our second round of club coaches. The coach is charged with helping clubs with membership problems, rebuild membership. Nothing happened with the fist round of coaches. We had no membership drives, no open house, no nothing, just a lot of talk. They did suggest that we consider another location as we currently meet in the local Fire Department's Community Room.
The second set of coaches came a few months ago. We had a meeting in early December and the chief coach immediately pushed for a vote to change the club location. 2/3 of the members at the meeting voted affirmative.
However, the problem is that none of the members who voted to change club location are actively looking for a new location.
How do I graciously, tell the club coaches and members, that I am moving on?.

You tell them any reason but the truth. There's no need to tell them that you feel the club is dead in the water and that it's not meeting your needs because none of them seem competent, no need at all. Just tell them that you have appreciated the chance to work with such a fine group of men and women, that you've learned a lot since you joined, and that you have a new challenge that you want to tackle. You don't want to speak about that challenge yet, because you're not ready, but wish them the best of luck, give them each a hug or a handshake, and leave.
