Are Raw Eggs Good to Eat to Lose Weight? If you are looking to lose weight, eggs can be a good food to add to your diet. However, for safety reasons, you should avoid eating raw eggs to lose weight. Raw eggs can be contaminated with salmonella and cause food poisoning. Instead of using raw eggs to lose weight, cook eggs until firm and serve for breakfast to decrease appetite.
Symptoms of salmonella infection can begin 8 to 72 hours after you eat undercooked eggs. They include vomiting, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, fever, headache, chills, muscle pains and blood in the stool. The infection can last four to seven days, but it could take months for your bowels to return to normal, according to MayoClinic.com. Healthy people might recover without treatment from a doctor, but extreme cases can lead to dehydration, which can be life-threatening. The safest approach is to contact your doctor if you think you might have a salmonella infection.

1) Raw eggs has the potential to contain salmonella as well as other bacteria and virus. These germs can cause anything from upset stomach to life threatening illness. People have died consuming food contaminated with these germs.
2) There is no benefits to consuming raw eggs because the raw protein in the eggs is very difficult for your body to absorb it. You are in fact wasting it because raw protein has to be de-naturalized such as by cooking it before your body can absorb it. So you are not only playing Russian roulette, but also wasting your money. In addition, the yolk of an egg contains all the fat and cholestrol in the egg - neither is going to help you lose weight. Cook the egg white and eat that.
3) If the egg you consumed is infected with salmonella, it is too late to do anything for you. You are either going to get sick or you lucked out and not get sick. The next 72 hours will tell. But understand this - if the symptom is such that it causes you severe vomiting, pain, and/or diarrhea, then you need to see the doctor or go to the ER. Remember, you can die from severe case of salmonella poisoning.

If it was a fresh cracked egg you should be fine. Countries like japan crack fresh egg over food like warm rice every day and do just fine. There are also quiet a few recipes that utilize raw egg, the key is to use fresh eggs, and to not let whatever dish you put them sit out. That being said there is a certain amount of risk when eating any raw protein

lol you ate a raw egg, no it won't do anything but make you have an upset stomach and there is that little chance it could contain salmonella , you could either drink water and throw up the egg or just tough it out but i would recommend cooking the egg before eating it next time. good luck

if you've ever eatin raw cookie dough then you've eatin raw egg. you'll be fine. I've eatin it all my 45 yrs. Never had salmonella. Eating raw has no more nutrition than cooked, if you are eating just for the protein than only cook & eat the whites as the yolk (yellow) has all the fat.

A 2002 study by U.S. Department of Agriculture found that the risk of egg-borne salmonella was less than previously thought. The USDA study found that of the 69 billion eggs produced each year in the U.S., only 2.3 million are contaminated with salmonella. That’s 1 in every 30,000 eggs. Even then, the salmonella may have not even penetrated the shell, so smart handling and additional washing of the egg can decrease that risk.
so 0.0003% risk salmonella from eggs

I do this all the time, its part of my diet. You will be fine! it won't affect you badly in any way unless you have too many in one time. Might get a bad stomach but it actually helps with health. :)
